Privacy Policy for SAFR
Last Updated: July 2026
Welcome to SAFR ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience when using our mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our digital will, legacy planning, and Janaza alert services.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our services, we collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: When you register, we collect your Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Date of Birth, and Gender.
- User Content (Your Choices): We collect the preferences and instructions you input into the App regarding your digital will, Ghusl preferences, burial instructions, and cemetery choices.
- Nominee Information: When you assign a trusted contact (Nominee), we collect the Name and Phone Number you provide for that individual so they can be authorized to view your wishes and confirm your passing.
- Device & Identifiers: We collect User IDs and Device IDs to securely maintain your logged-in session and send you Push Notifications (e.g., Janaza alerts or passing confirmations).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Store and manage your end-of-life wishes securely.
- Notify your assigned Nominees and grant them access to your instructions upon confirmation of your passing.
- Send you SMS or Push Notifications regarding important alerts, OTPs for authentication, and community Janaza announcements.
- Improve the functionality, security, and user experience of the App.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We only share your information in the following circumstances:
- With your Nominees: The specific instructions and documents you save in the App are only revealed to your designated Nominees upon verified confirmation of your passing.
- Public Bulletin: If a passing is confirmed and a public broadcast is authorized, basic details (such as Janaza time and cemetery location) may be visible to the community via the App's Public Bulletin.
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (like Twilio for SMS routing) solely to facilitate the delivery of our services.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
4. Data Security
Your legacy is important to us. We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures (including encryption and secure PINs) to help protect your personal information. However, please be aware that no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
5. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information at any time. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from the Security settings within the SAFR app. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
